More Summer Fun

It's been a while since I've updated the ol' blogg. Here are a couple of good pics of Ella. A couple of her in her "exersaucer", currently her favorite pastime. The other two pics were taken in the sunken gardens in Lincoln.

Adventure Race

Last weekend, Jackson and I competed in the Adventure Race for the Cornhusker State Games. We did the race last year, but both Jackson and I agreed, this year was way more difficult.

We had to trail run 2.5 miles, mountain bike 5 miles, canoe 1.5 miles, complete an obsticle course, mountain bike 5 miles, run 4 miles, and swim 50 yds. It took us 3:32. I was beat.

Summer time!

Ella and Dad have been hanging out this summer. We try to visit Mom at work we she has time. Otherwise we have been doing a little water skiing, going to weddings, buying great produce at the farmers market, and going to concerts.

Bath Time!

Ella's favorite thing to do isn't sleeping or eating, but taking a bath. She could sit for hours in her tub and be content. She's even getting used to the fact that she needs to get out of the bath at some point (this is something we've been working on).

Baptism

On Mother's Day, we decided to kill six or seven birds with one stone. We baptized Ella and got a chance to spend Mother's Day with all the moms.

Wide Eyed...

Ella and Tami are spending quality time together before Tami has to go back to work. I take over the responsibility May 31st, when I am through with school. We timed things just right.

Busy Eating, Sleeping and well you know...

Tami and I are slowly getting into the routine of being parents. We are getting used to the nights of little sleep, the days of constant worrying about our little bundle of joy.

The complete story...

On Monday, Tami had her weekly check-up. During her check-up, Dr. Shari noticed Tami and the baby's fluid level were a little low. Considering we were so close to the due date, the decision was made to induce Tami.

We went into the hospital at 9:00 am on Tuesday morning. Tami was given cytotec at around 10:00 am ( cytotec creates contractions and thins out the cervix).

Tami was given another dose of cytotec and the contractions became more and more fierce, but still she was only dilated to 1 cm.

At around 3:00 am, after hours of harsh contractions, we made he decision to get an epidural. This turned out to be a great choice. Tami was able to get some sleep to get ready for the delivery.

At 6:30 am, Tami's cervix was checked again. This time she was only dilated to two cm. We were very disappointed at this point. We figured she would be at least 4 or 5 cm.

Dr. Shari made the decision to do amnio-infusion, which adds fluid to the placenta. This turned out to be a good thing. Meanwhile, Dr. Shari went home to get ready for the day after generously spending the night at the hospital for Tami's sake.

At 7:30, Tami's cervix was checked again, and this time she was at 9 cm. We both though the nurse was joking, but thankful not. Tami would soon be pushing!

In the meantime, Dr. Shari was called back to the hospital. She would arrive just in time.

At 8:00 am, Tami made her first push, and by 8:26 am on April 5th, Ella Dawn Clark was born. 6 lbs 7 oz...19 in long. With a hint of blond hair!

Sittin', wait'n...

Tami is holding on for dear life in the last handful of weeks. She's taken an interest in Soduku, she's getting pretty good. Every Tuesday, we GET to go to birthing classes. They make for long days, but they can be intersting at times.

Down the Stretch

36 weeks and counting...Tami and I are putting on the finishing touches to the baby's new room. We think we've got everything in order, but you never know!

Windsor, our dog

Valentine's Day at the Dog Park

I know, we're nuts, we're crazy, when will we ever settle down! For Valentine's Day Tami and I took Windsor to the Dog Park. Windsor got a chance to smell a few butts, and kiss a few poodles.

Rolling Stones

On January 29th, Tami and I had an once in a lifetime chance to see the Stones up close. We had unbelievable seats to the big event at the Quest Center. The show was crazy!

Prom, 1984

This weekend past, Tami, Tracy, Susan, and I went to an 80's prom. Besides the fact that we had a totally rad time, we now own a gray tuxedo, and a blue dress! Needless to say, Tami made me loose the "stash" the next morning.

Baby Progress

At 26 weeks, Tami is taking it day by day. Through the sleepless nights, and the cravings, Tami is all smiles and grins. We are anxiously awaiting our new arrival.

We have, unfortunately, discovered the finances involved with having a new baby. It ain't cheap! We are consistently on the look-out for deals on furniture for the nursery.

"Rrr-ello" from Windsor

The holidays are over...

Tami and I enjoyed spending time with our family over the holidays. Christmas was spent in both DeWitt and Omaha, which meant a lot of driving time, but well worth it.

New Years Eve we spent with Tracy and Susan at Blue Sushi and Saki for all you can eat sushi. Word of advice, when they say "All you can eat", never "All you can eat". Especially at a sushi bar.

Check back for more updates!
